NC State University Develops Kirigami-Inspired Mechanical Computer
Researchers at North Carolina State University have created a mechanical computer that uses interconnected cubes to store and process data. Inspired by kirigami, the art of cutting and folding paper, the cubes can be pushed up or down to represent information, eliminating the need for electronics. This design also allows for data encryption and high-density storage.
